We have an exciting opportunity for a Deputy Head of Family Law (Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive) to assist the Department Head in the development of our brand new department. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with proven prior experience, ability and drive.

We are a multi-accredited firm based in Newcastle Upon Tyne recognised for its innovative approach to legal services and client service excellence. We have an exciting role in our new Family Law Department as a Family Solicitor.

This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with proven prior experience with a minimum of 4 years PQE, who will take a proactive approach in the development of the department and has the ability to work within a team environment.

We are looking for the successful candidate to support the growth of our company and with this in mind we are looking for the candidate to match our ambition and ethos to develop and deliver the innovation and service excellence to privately funded family law matters.

Job Specification

Key Responsibilities

  • Running and managing your own caseload within the family department
  • Providing advice to individuals and families including but not restricted to the following areas;
    • Private Law Child Matters
    • Divorce
    • Financial Settlements
    • Separation
    • Pre and Post nuptial agreements
    • Mediation
    • Advocacy



Key Requirements

  • You will be a first-rate Solicitor (Law Society Family Law Accredited member) or Chartered Legal Executive (3-4 years PQE+) with a solid background in privately funded Family matters with a proven track record of running their own caseload, working to a fee income target, service level targets and delivering a high level of client care.
  • Have experience in case management software pages (previous Proclaim experience would be advantageous).
  • An existing client base or following would be advantageous.
  • Have a firm and functional knowledge within family law.
  • Demonstrate initiative and the drive to produce a high standard of service to our clients.
  • Possess high levels of speed and accuracy.
  • Have a good telephone manner and be comfortable speaking with clients both on the telephone and in-person and be able to work in a team.
  • Be highly organised, methodical, and adaptable.
