Due to our continued expansion, we are looking to recruit a Costs Draftsman to join our busy Costs Department to enable maximum profit costs recovery.

Job Specification

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare Bills of Costs for Detailed Assessment.
  • Prepare Schedules of Fixed Recoverable Costs.
  • Prepare Estimates of Costs for Trial.
  • Prepare Statements of Costs for Applications and Trial.
  • Preparation and negotiation of Costs Budgets

Key Requirements

  • Candidates should have a minimum of two years’ experience of CostsMaster, or similar drafting software.
  • At least two years’ experience working in the Personal Injury sector would be desirable.
  • Knowledge of basic law and practice.
  • Working knowledge of Civil Procedures Rules in particular Parts 44-47 and the interplay between Fixed Recoverable Costs and Part 36.
  • Working knowledge of recent Costs Case Law.
  • Experience of the New Electronic Bill of Costs is desirable but not essential.
  • Adaptive and versatile in approach.
  • Good Organisational skills.
  • The ability and confidence to communicate with people at all levels.
  • Competent ICT knowledge.
  • Good command of the English language both written and verbal.
  • Methodical approach.
  • Ability to work towards deadlines.
  • Able to work independently and use own initiative.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Friendly and cooperative personality.
