Compliance & Closure Clerk

Working hours - 9.00 am - 5.00 pm Monday to Friday: 35 Hours per week

Winn Solicitors is a Legal 500 company and market leaders in Personal Injury Law. We are looking for a Compliance & Closure Clerk to join the Closure team and support the growth of our company.

The successful candidate will assist with the resolution and compliance processes required to ensure completed case files are closed correctly and promptly, including liaising with third parties to recover agreed damages.

The ideal candidate will ideally have a background of working within the legal and/or financial sector, will possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills and will have excellent ICT and telephone communication skills.

Job Specification

Key Responsibilities

• To identify and resolve client account ledger balances in accordance with the SRA Accounts rules;

• To ensure completed case files are closed correctly in line with Group procedures;

• Identify, submit and process write off requests when required;

• Identify, calculate and return genuine overpayments to third parties;

• Contact third parties to recover agreed costs and damages;

• Follow the Department procedures and processes along with Company policies at all time;

• Assist other team members in achieving their Key Responsibilities;

• Report issues, problems and compliance breaches in a timely manner to the appropriate level of management;

• Undertake any appropriate training.

Key Requirements

• Ideally, a background of working within the legal and/or finance sector

• Minimum GCSE Grade C (or equivalent) in English & Math’s

• Computer literacy in Excel and Word

• A willing attitude and an adaptable mindset

• Excellent communications skills – it is a necessity to be able to communicate both verbally and in writing in a clear and effective manner (All verbal contact is telephone based)

• Can demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and a solutions-focused approach

• Ability to work well in a team environment

• Manage your time effectively to enable you to meet both individual and team targets
