Your primary responsibility in this Claims Handler role is to take on initial client claims in relation to road traffic, personal injury and vehicle damage matters.

You will look after your own caseload of clients, delivering an exceptional customer service experience to both customers and clients, be articulate, have a strong communication skill set to be able to handle complex claims, as well as having the ability to build and maintain professional relationships with internal colleagues, external clients and third parties.

Job Specification

Key Responsibilities

  • Take on initial instructions from new clients, assess the merits of their case and act upon the same as per their instructions
  • Ensure efficient and professional service is provided in handling claims
  • Build positive relationships with clients and stakeholders
  • Deal with client telephone enquiries and help manage client expectations
  • Arrange and monitor provision of hire vehicles to the client and to ensure the hire system works effectively
  • Monitor receipt of engineer’s reports and payments with regard to the same
  • Work effectively and efficiently using our case management system
  • Contribute to the smooth running of the firm by assisting other support staff with their work during periods of peak demand

Key Requirements

  • Knowledge and understanding of the principles of personal injury claims, insurance and ability to value claims
  • Understanding of Vehicle Damage Claims, including liability and case law
  • Experience of credit hire and credit repair systems
  • Contact Centre experience
  • Preferably experience as a claims handler or working within an insurance field
  • Knowledge of case management systems and excellent ICT skills
  • Understanding of the Financial Conduct Authority and Data Protection protocols
  • Good organisation and communication skills
  • Team ethic, cooperative and flexible
  • Commitment, drive and a people person
